I already assume that you all know the basic role play language. (ooc, ic, rp, powerplaying, godmoding, plot) I also assume you all know how to use spell check and write in complete sentences. Please don't prove me wrong. -Registering- If you have any problem registering to EHL, leave a note in the c-box. After you register, you are free to post on all the OOC boards and create your character. When creating your character, please follow the template given in the creating your character post. -OOC- Swearing is allowed, but keep it appropriate, remember this site is rated PG-13. DO NOT insult other members on the c-box or in posting. If you have an issue with a member don't bring it here! Remember, just because someone's character has a problem with your character, doesn't mean they have a problem with you. If you need to talk in ooc in a role play, let us know. Either by putting parentheses around it ((like this)), or by OOC: doing this. Respect all Staff Members. We are are here to give you advice and keep this site fun for everyone. OOC rules apply to the c-box as well. -IC- The number of characters you can have depends on your rank. When you first join, you are limited to three characters, but as you post and your rank advances, you can get more characters. For every rank you advance, you get another character (if you are on the second rank, you are allowed to get your fourth character). If you loose track of how many characters you're allowed to have, check the number of stars on your profile. 4 stars = 4 characters. If someone is caught with more characters than they are supposed to have, they will be asked to have a character deleted. If they do not oblige then they will be warned and finally banned. When your character speaks, in addition to using quotations, please bold the speech. You are allowed to use color for your character's speech as well, just make sure you use the same color every time. ABSOLUTELY NO POWERPLAYING OR GODMODING!!! If there are three or more roleplayers in a roleplay, a posting order must be established. Your character can die in a fight. When your character is dead, it's dead. There are not ghosts, apparitions or zombies in EHL. Role playing posts must be at least 10 lines long in the default font. Sorry guys, not size 72 font just so you can fill the 10 lines. If you have no muse wait to post. There is no rule that you absolutely have to post within five minutes of reading the last post. Wait a little while for inspiration to strike. There is no maximum limit to posting. If you create a thread that is meant only for another member, please designate it. Such as --- Role Playing Title (open only for whatshisname). Where the aging of a character is considered, your character ages as you wish them to. No one can tell you when your character is old and has to die. The age of your character is completely up to you. Your character is allowed to be in more than one role play at a time, but don't go overboard. No more than three role plays, please. If your character leaves a role play, please inform others OOC. Ex:: ((Solaris has left the area)) Ex:: ((Solaris has left the rp)) Ex:: OOC-Solaris has left the area/rp -Fighting- Fighting is one of the best parts of rping, but please don't make it your life's mission to fight with every member's character that ever lived. Major fights must be judged and reviewed by a staff member. Major fights can be fights with two or more characters that fight to win something. Major fights can be to the death or over mates. Small scraps are allowed in role plays and do not have to be judged by a staff member. Both characters walk away from scraps and neither of the characters wins or looses. If you are fighting over something or fighting to prove something, it is considered a major fight. The victor of a fight is determined by the staff who moderates the fight unless the victor has been pre-determined by the members. -Mates and Mating- Ahhh, love... There are many different species here in EHL. Two different species are allowed to fall in love and become mates, but only mates of the same species can mate. I'd rather not have any mutants on EHL at this time that resulted from a lion falling in love with a duck. If two characters decide to become life partners, please notify us all by posting in the Mates board. If two characters of the same species decide to mate and have babies let us know by posting in the Litters/Newborns board. The gestation period depend on the creature your character is. If your character's a mouse then it would only have to wait a small amount of time before having babies, but if your animal's an elephant (who's gestation period is 2 years) then it will take a little longer to have babies. And remember, this site is rated PG-13. So keep the birth scenes appropriate please. Absolutely no mating scenes. Again, this site is rated PG-13 and I'd like to keep it that way. -Breaking The Rules- Now come the consequeces...dun, dun, duhhhh! EHL has a 3 strikes you're out system. If you make a small mistake, like posting 9 lines, or forgetting to bold your character's speech, I'm not that worried about it, but if you constantly swear ooc, insult other members, or powerplay/godmode, you will be warned once. The second time you are caught you will be banned for a certain number of days, and the third time you will be banned permanently. I don't want to have to ban anyone, but I will if I must. If you have any questions or are confused about any of the rules, PM either myself, experienced members, or other staff members.
